Went to the MIT Haystack Radio Telescope open house a couple of days ago :)

We got to listen to a lecture on what they do there and then we saw the telescope. It was humungous. The large white pole near the center of the picture is what holds up the telescope itself and maneuvers it. The triangle shapes to the side of it is this huge cloth globe that protects it and covers the entire radio. Up at the top is the actual dish. It was amazing. Props to MIT!
